Location: Hillcrest Mall
This morning began with a familiar feeling—heavy legs during my walk at Hillcrest Mall. I had slept well, but the body sometimes moves at its own pace.
After about 1,700 steps, I took a coffee break and checked my blood pressure: 142/60, pulse 60. Everything looked stable, so I continued walking slowly.
By the afternoon, something interesting happened. After lunch and a bit more movement, the legs felt light again. Energy returned, and by the end of the day I had reached over 5,000 steps, including a little grocery shopping.
Later in the evening, I noticed my blood pressure had risen to 162 systolic. That reminded me of dinner earlier—a hot salty chicken dish with rice from a restaurant. This morning the reading returned to 136/56 with pulse 60, confirming that food can have a noticeable short-term effect.
Julie and I briefly talked about it, and we agreed to eat more homemade meals in the future. Cooking at home gives us better control over salt and ingredients.
Yesterday offered a simple lesson:
the body changes throughout the day, and careful observation helps guide better choices.
Morning may start heavy, but with patience and movement, the day can still end light.
