👉 Why I want to leave my stories behind

Every person is born with a biological blueprint that helps shape who we become. But life is not only determined by our beginnings. Along ...

When My Eyes Are Tired, I Let the Blog Read to Me

As we grow older, our eyes quietly tell us the truth.

Some days, they are fine.
Other days, especially after a long morning on the computer or phone, they get tired faster than before.

I noticed this while writing and reading my own blog.

I still enjoy reading—very much. But sometimes my eyes say, “Enough for now.”
That’s when I asked myself a simple question:

Why must reading always rely on the eyes?

A Small Change That Made a Big Difference

Recently, I added a Listen / Stop button to my blog.

With just one click, the article reads itself out loud.
I can lean back, rest my eyes, and simply listen.

No rushing.
No squinting.
No pressure to “finish the article”.

It feels surprisingly comfortable.

This Is Not About Laziness — It’s About Smart Aging

Some people think listening instead of reading means giving up.

I see it differently.

As seniors, we adapt.
We adjust.
We choose tools that work with our bodies, not against them.

Listening helps when:

  • Eyes feel dry or tired

  • Reading small text becomes uncomfortable

  • You want to relax while still learning something new

It’s not a replacement for reading—it’s another way to enjoy it.

Technology Can Be Gentle

We often hear big, scary words like “AI” and “technology”.

But in reality, some of the best technology is quiet and gentle.
It doesn’t demand attention.
It simply helps when needed.

For me, this Listen button is one of those tools.

When my eyes are tired, my curiosity doesn’t have to stop.

A Small Note to Fellow Seniors

If your eyes feel tired:

  • Take breaks

  • Increase text size

  • And when possible… let technology lend you a voice

Aging is not about doing less.
It’s about doing things more wisely.

If you’d like to try it, just click the Listen button and see how it feels.

Your eyes may thank you.
