A Morning Feast at Jumbo Lobster Clubhouse

We kicked off the day with steaming baskets of dumplings, silky shrimp rice rolls, and a showstopping lobster noodle — all before most people had finished their first cup of coffee.

Dim sum for breakfast? Why not! We started feasting before most people had even poured their first cup of coffee. Julie, our daughter Alison, and her two little food critics (a.k.a. the grandkids) joined me for an early breakfast-lunch at Jumbo Lobster Clubhouse on Leslie.

The place was quiet when we arrived — rows of empty tables, soft background chatter, and that distinct dim sum aroma wafting from the kitchen. Perfect. No waiting, no crowd, just us and our hungry appetites.

We kicked things off with five classics:

  • Plump ha kau (shrimp dumplings)

  • Savory siu mei

  • Crispy fried shrimp rolls

  • Silky shrimp rice rolls with sweet soy

  • Fluffy cha siu bau (BBQ pork buns)

And then… the showstopper — lobster with noodles and bean leaves. Fresh, juicy, and coated in rich, savory goodness. The noodles soaked up every bit of that sauce — pure heaven.

The kids? Oh, they were in food paradise. First place went to the steamed shrimp rice rolls (devoured in record time), and second to the lobster noodles. Watching their excitement made the meal even better.

By the time 11 a.m. rolled around, the dining room had gone from peaceful to buzzing with chatter. The air conditioning kept things cool, the service was smooth, and our table was overflowing. We couldn’t finish it all, so we packed up the rest for our son-in-law — his reward for working from home.

Verdict? We’re coming back. Great food, relaxed vibe, happy family — you can’t beat that.
