You can soak in the essence of Paris simply by sitting at a sidewalk café or bistro, sipping a glass of wine while watching the world go by. There’s something captivating in the individuality of the Parisians, the way they carry themselves, the rhythms of their conversations, and the understated confidence of their daily life.
Our day began with a guided city tour, led by a knowledgeable local expert. We visited the historic and awe-inspiring Notre-Dame Cathedral, with its iconic towers and magnificent stained glass. The tour continued through La Sorbonne and the Boulevard Saint-Germain, once the heart of literary and artistic circles.
From there, we admired the Eiffel Tower, always breathtaking whether viewed from near or afar, then passed the Opéra Garnier, the stylish Champs-Élysées, and the fashionable Rue de Rivoli.
In the afternoon, there was an optional excursion to the Palace of Versailles, the opulent former royal residence of Louis XIV, with its grand halls, vast gardens, and reflections of France's glorious past.
To close our Parisian chapter, we were invited to join a farewell dinner — an optional but highly recommended event. Good food, flowing wine, heartfelt toasts, and fond memories shared with fellow travelers. It was the perfect way to say au revoir to Paris and our incredible European journey.
