第二天，山裡的天氣忽然變了。清晨的薄霧還未散去，烏雲便悄悄聚攏。爺爺正走在林間小道上，風一陣陣吹過，樹梢搖晃，隨後雨滴落下，越來越密。
他急忙躲進一處樹下避雨。身上的衣服被濕氣浸透，但他並不焦躁，只靜靜看著眼前的景象。雨水拍打著葉子，形成無數細小的水珠，在光影之間閃爍。那聲音，如音樂般柔和。
「人生不也像這場雨嗎？」爺爺心想。「無論多麼突如其來，只要心不亂，就能等到放晴。」
雨勢漸弱，山谷中瀰漫著清新的氣息。當陽光再度穿透雲層，爺爺抬頭望見一道彩虹，橫跨山谷。那瞬間，他心裡湧上一股溫暖——那不是奇蹟，而是一種自然的回應，提醒他要相信時間，也相信自己。
那天晚上，他在筆記本上寫下：

The next day, the mountain weather changed suddenly. Morning mist lingered as dark clouds gathered overhead. Grandpa was walking along a forest path when the wind began to rise, rustling the trees. Soon, raindrops started to fall—softly at first, then in steady rhythm.
He took shelter under a large tree. Though his clothes grew damp, he felt no frustration. Instead, he watched quietly as the rain tapped on the leaves, forming thousands of glistening droplets that shimmered in the dim light. The sound was like gentle music.
“Isn’t life like this rain?” Grandpa thought. “No matter how sudden it comes, if the heart stays calm, the sun will return.”
As the rain eased, the valley filled with a fresh scent. When sunlight finally broke through the clouds, a rainbow stretched gracefully across the sky. A quiet warmth rose in Grandpa’s chest—it wasn’t a miracle, but nature’s way of reminding him to trust time, and to trust himself.
That night, he wrote in his notebook:
“Storms are part of the journey. Without rain, there would be no rainbow.”
