Yesterday Julie and I had a dinner gathering among old friends. It was at Go Go Chicken Pot. A very convenient location at the intersection of Bayview and Elgin Mills East. The highlight of the evening was 10 lbs Yellow Edge Grouper. It was a pretty big fish enough for 10 -12 persons for dinner. After a brief discussion, we decided to cook the fish in 3 different ways as follows:
1. fish bones, tail, Bakchoy and daufu soup
2. Wok fried fish cutlet with carrot, broccoli & green onion.
3. Fish head & belly stewed with mushroom, green onion
On top, we ordered dishes from the set menu.
4. spicy eggplant with onion and red pepper
5. Wok fried pork cutlet with cucumber wood fungus
6. Deep fried spicy squids
7. Chop pork rib with bitter cucumber
8. A big jar of beer
9. Steamed rice10. Sweet almond soup (desert)
11. Chinese green tea
Food was delicious and the portions were just right. We had a good chat after the dinner. but did not stay long due to the extreme cold weather and icy road conditions
